OUR HISTORY

WHERE IT BEGAN

The Beginning: 2005

With the desire of a new way to worship in a modern, yet Lutheran way, a variety of members from surrounding LCMS churches in Jackson County came together with with the help of Interim Pastor Leonard Fiene. Peace Lutheran Church held their first services in the Seymour Middle School.

New Building: 2007

St. Paul’s Congregational Church was looking to join a new church body, and after meeting with Pastor Fiene, decided to join Peace Lutheran Church. Peace has been meeting in the St. Paul church building ever since.

Fun Fact: This building was originally home to a Lutheran congregation back in 1859. The bell tower still reads today, St. Paul's First German Evangelical Lutheran Church

Today, Peace is dedicated to upholding the history of the sacred space that they worship in, while sharing God’s love in ways that are creative, relevant, and authentic, remaining faithful to their Lutheran roots, and worshiping in a casual, modern, and liturgical way.
